Okay folks…here is the northern half of my trip! I arrived around 10am in New York City where I met up with my awesome traveling companions. We hit the city walking and succeeded on seeing quite a bit in 6 hours. I look pretty much like a zombie in the photos…due to a 10 hour layover the night before…but one can hardly sleep in the city that doesn’t sleep!
Here are a few of our “New York” experiences:
– Times Square (Toy’s R Us Inside Farris Wheel) – Walking down 5th Avenue – American Girl Doll Store (4 floors of doll crazy) – St. Patricks Cathedral – The super cool clear Apple Store – Starbucks in the Donald Trump building – Vanilla Late at Tiffany’s. – Carriage ride in Central Park (learned where all the celebrates lived! lol) – Rockefeller Center – Warm soup at a Panera we stumbled by – Empire State Building (Super cool sun-ray sunset) – Largest Macy’s in the World (got some clothes because the airline lost my luggage! This Macy’s had a WHOLE floor of shoes and wooden escalators)
We headed back to the hotel for a quick snack before heading over to see Newises on Broadway…seriously amazing! After the show we walked around time square a bit and on the famous illuminated red steps. Not sure why they are famous…but we took a picture on themWe ended the evening with arugula flatbread and sparkling water/Shirley Temple!
The next morning we drove to Vermont for a week of fun family visiting! On the way we passed Lake George …a frozen lake was a new site for me. The rest of the week we experienced 30 degree weather, soft snowfalls, flaky chocolate crescents, Peet’s coffee, college touring, small town fun, hiking in a snow fall, American Flatbread (AMAZING PIZZA), Von Trapp Family Lodge, Ben and Jerry’s factory! Again…I had way to much fun with the fisheye! Enjoy!
